4 Self-Induced Obstacles That Successful People Remove

The picture is of an obstacle as the blog is all about obstacles people set for themselves and how to overcome them

There are many obstacles that you can face as a business owner, and whilst some may be unexpected and out of your control, the good news is that self-inflicted obstacles can be removed by you too.

Here’s 4 self-inflicted obstacles I’ve seen people face throughout my coaching career and so I wanted to highlight them to you and help you get out of your own way.

  1. Sticking with what you’ve always done

Change is happening all the time and your business needs to be able to adapt and move with it. The pandemic was a hige wakeup call to this point. Whether it’s a new process, software, ways of communication, marketing, where you work from, etc. If it’s not working, or could be better, don’t stick with it because it’s what you know. Make the change and see the positive results.

  2. Jumping ahead

It can be very easy to go after the next shiny thing without solid foundations. Take the time to ensure your foundations are strong before taking on too much. You won’t regret it.

  3. Not having high enough standards for yourself

This all comes down to your self-limiting belief. You will only go as far as you believe you will. If you set that bar higher, just watch what happens.

  4. A negative mindset

Going into your work with a mindset that you ‘have to’, you’re tired, you’re overwhelmed, you’re fed-up, etc, will produce negative results. Instead, go into your work with ‘I get to’. You get to run your own business. You get to be in control of your destiny. Do you see the difference?

Do any of these feel familiar? If they do, let’s have a chat so we can look into overcoming these obstacles together and making your business a success.
